My Bestie

My daughter as the flower girl in my Best friend’s wedding 17 years ago.

My Bestie is the BEST  best friend. She gives with zero expectation of return and forgives like none other.

My best friend knows when to listen, when to speak, and when to get angry. She understands her audience and speaks accordingly. It is a fine art that she has perfected over the years. She supports me while I am trying to figure that same art out in real time. She gives me grace and room to grow. She tells me the difficult truth in ways that I can perceive it.

My best friend has been my soul sister for 30 years. We have been through so much together and we realize that beauty rises up from the ashes of difficulties, which is why we are still the BEST of friends.

My best friend stood by my side when I was raising three kids because she knew I needed someone. My husband worked two jobs to support our family and slept when he could, so my best friend spent tons of time with my kids and loved them better than I could at times. She made them laugh and brought a ton of joy into our home.

I don’t know what I’d do or how I’d make it in this life without her. She is such a gift.
